For Australian accountants — the trusted advisers

Starting. Scaling. Transacting. Structured right.

The lawyer your clients needed but didn't engage. Now on your team.

Proper commercial legal structuring. Informed by your tax view. Delivered through you.

Your clients deserve a proper commercial structure. But only get documents.

The alternative is that the accountant diagnoses the structuring problem, downloads a document, and has a crack at filling in the blanks. Strictly, the accountant cannot provide legal advice. In practice, most do, and they absorb the risk without charging for it.

A commercial law firm would do the job properly. For most clients, the time, the cost, and the dislocation of leaving their accountant's office make that referral unrealistic.

"Accountants' clients may only encounter these requirements once every now and then. That's what Kigumi is for." Electra Frost — Public Accountant 25+ years, Kigumi Co-founder

Collaboration. Not referral.

You keep the client. We bring the lawyer.

i.

The meeting

You meet your client, in person or on Zoom, Teams or Meet. The conversation is recorded with consent. The transcript becomes the brief, with your tax view attached.

ii.

The structuring

An admitted Australian commercial lawyer works the problem. A short call with your client completes the brief and confirms instructions. The legal structure is built around your tax view, not at odds with it. A TPB-registered Chartered Tax Adviser is brought in where you flag a specialist tax question.

iii.

The delivery

A short letter of advice: here is the problem, here is the structure, here is the recommendation. A tax opinion letter where flagged. Registrations and agreements drafted and executed. Documents signed and delivered. For you, a tidy client onboarded — with an obligations calendar and draft services agreement ready for you to price for your client.

Structuring. And the corporate housekeeping.

Kigumi is structuring, first. The ongoing corporate work that keeps the structure clean sits alongside it, on the same platform.

Kigumi is the workspace. The work is done by licensed practitioners.

Kigumi Solutions runs the platform, hosts the workspace, and does the AUSTRAC AML/KYC CDD. It is not a law firm and not a tax practice. The legal and tax work is done by regulated practitioners in their own firms, under their own professional indemnity.

Incorporated Legal Practice. Simon Owen, commercial solicitor. The head legal practice on the platform. Additional specialist lawyers available where the matter calls for them.

Specialist tax

Platform

Kigumi Solutions Pty Ltd

The workspace. AUSTRAC AML/KYC CDD done in-house. Perth-registered. Where accountant, lawyer and tax specialist work on the same matter.

Built quiet. Built to work.

Kigumi is brought into the matter at your invitation. With your client's authorisation, the conversation is recorded and shared with us so Kigumi's lawyers can come back with a recommended scope of legal advice and structure. Your client sees the recommendation and the quote before deciding whether to engage.

Your meeting. Our prompts.
Structured prompts help you ask the right things, so the lawyer has most of what they need from the recording. A short follow-up call with your client completes the brief, and the quote comes back quickly.
Your browser. Their consent.
Kigumi engages only once your client verbally authorises the conversation to be recorded and shared.
Your recording. Between us.
The conversation is recorded by you and shared with us to work from. No bots or third-party meeting transcription tools required.
Your matter. Our compliance.
AUSTRAC AML/KYC customer due diligence is conducted on our side and the outcome shared with you.

Bring a matter. See how it works.

Kigumi is in closed partnership with a small number of Australian accounting practices. If you have a structuring matter that would benefit, we would like to hear from you.
